EARLY CAREER SCHOLARS BROWN BAG PANEL ON BUILDING PATHS TO ACADEMIC CAREERS

The Early Career Scholars of 17³Ô¹Ïwill hold a virtual panel discussion on building paths to academic careers on February 4, 2021 at 12pm EST via Zoom. The expert panel includes professors from across the US and Israel and originate from various fields in history and archaeology. Speakers will include: Dr. Jay Crisostomo (University of Michigan, Middle East Studies Dept.), Dr. Jane DeRose Evans (Temple University, Art History Dept.), Dr. Aren Maeir (Bar-Ilan University, Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology Dept.), Dr. Julia Troche (Missouri State University, History Dept.), and Dr. K. Lawson Younger (Trinity International University, Divinity School).

The panelists will address topics such as choosing advisors, schools, dissertation topics, building CVs, what skills to acquire as an MA, PhD, post-doc etc. and the current status of the academic job market. To a large extent, the discussion will be shaped by your questions. .

The event, a part of our brown bag lunch series, is a *FREE* benefit for 17³Ô¹Ïmembers. Registration is limited to 17³Ô¹Ïmembers and students at 17³Ô¹Ïmember schools on a first come, first serve basis. Registrants will receive an email with Zoom access information prior to the event.
