17³Ô¹ÏANNUAL MEETING

17³Ô¹ÏSEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR VICE PRESIDENT

The Officers Nominations Committee (Hanan Charaf, Chair) solicits nominations for Vice President of 17³Ô¹Ïposition for a three-year term January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2022.

Expressions of interest or nominations for Vice President should be sent by no later than February 15, 2019. At this stage, nominations may be made simply by sending the person’s name and email address to Marta Ostovich in the 17³Ô¹Ïoffice. Self-nominations are encouraged. The 17³Ô¹Ïoffice will contact all nominees to make sure that the nominee is willing to have his or her name discussed by the Officers Nominations Committee. Questions about the Vice President position or about the selection process may be addressed to Hanan Charaf, chair of the Officers Nominations Committee.

The Vice President’s primary responsibilities will be to chair the Chairs Coordinating Council and serve on ASOR’s Executive Committee. The Vice President shall also perform such additional duties as the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee, the President, or the Board Chair may from time to time prescribe. In the event that both the President and Chair of the Board are unable to be present to discharge the duties of the President, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President until a new President can be elected. The Vice President agrees to attend three meetings each year at his/her own expense: the 17³Ô¹ÏBoard of Trustees meetings in Spring and November, and the Executive Committee retreat in January. Information on 17³Ô¹Ïmission statement, bylaws, and strategic plan can be found on the 17³Ô¹Ïwebsite.

All 17³Ô¹ÏMembers in good standing are eligible for nomination to the Vice President position. The committee encourages you to consider submitting a self-nominating letter. The committee also encourages you to share names of people who you think would be a good fit.

17³Ô¹Ïis an Equal Opportunity Employer. 17³Ô¹Ïaffirms its commitment to equality of opportunity and pledges that it will not practice or permit discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, veteran’s status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The Board actively seeks candidates who represent the diversity within its membership for positions of leadership.
